Have the browser wars ended?

We all Know what the Internet is and how to access it, but the particular program that  we use is called and can sometimes be a mystery to the basic end user of a computer and in the past the most popular browsers were the default ones. The confusion of what a browser is definitely seems to be lessened now then it was in the past shown by the vast market share Chrome holds as a third party web browser in most cases vs the default browsers from Microsoft and Apple. https://www.computerworld.com/article/3199425/web-browsers/top-web-browsers-2018-firefox-sits-on-slippery-slope-chrome-grows-even-bigger.html?page=4

The biggest difference was once speed but with newer browsers they are only really held back by your internet connection and occasionally on your hardware especially ram. https://www.webperformance.com/load-testing-tools/blog/2018/02/what-is-the-fastest-web-browser-in-2018/

My personal favorite is chrome mostly for UI and security features.
